Pressure Reducing Valves
Made by Bell & Gossett
The pressure reducing valve for the “closed-loop” hydronic system is a safety device which supplies the boiler with a reduced water pressure from the city supply. This valve replenishes any minor water loss from evaporation through system valve stems and seals. It also doubles as a safety water make-up device by maintaining the boiler water level should a sudden water loss occur to prevent the boiler from firing “dry”. The normal pressure setting is 12 psi.
